The PHS Foundation was formed in 1988 by a group of private citizens and PHS graduates committed to maintaining the educational and overall excellence of Parkersburg High School. The goal of the Foundation is to create an endowment large enough to support a wide variety of projects from the income alone, now and well into the future. Projects include renovation of classrooms and other facilities, state of the art technology, teacher grants that benefit classroom students, and scholarships for worthy students.
The PHS Foundation Permanent Endowment Fund is maintained within the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation. Class and individual gifts are accounted for separately but merged for investment and expenditure. Large gifts with designated uses are also held in the Permanent Endowment but are invested and expended separately. The "lifeblood" of the Foundation is the unselfish level of support by citizens and alumni of the Parkersburg Community. To continue our goals, we hope you will help us with a contribution.
